By trying to be aware of my surroundings and keep my senses alive. For instance, I work outside in people's gardens and there are a lot of ambient sounds. Birds, squirrels, dogs, passing conversations, someone practicing trumpet, kids skateboarding, a distant racetrack, passing car stereos. Likewise, there is a lot to appreciate visually. Little details that seem insignificant actually carry a lot of weight in my big picture. Friends are also inspiring. I try to surround myself with people who I can learn from.
